This song was written for 2 of my closest and dearest friends wedding. I was at their engagement party and I told them my gift to them would be writing their first dance song. Flares tells the story of their first date, their proposal and tries to capture their story, the title comes from the classic nightclub in York called "Flares" where their first date ended up during the iconic mini pub crawl first date story.

Before the start of Lockdown my last show was at The Water Rat in London, I managed to see my friend before the world went into chaos and go for a pint down at King Cross Station. There he told me they were now having a baby.
